Pacifica, unlike other non-profit membership organizations such as Sierra Club, and despite its unique communicative capacity over the airwaves, does not inform members adequately about candidates for its boards as part of its own communication with members. Instead it requires candidates or slates to pay substantial fees to third-party mailing houses to communicate with members. It will cost about $14,000 to send a postcard to all members. Help us level the playing field so that deep-pocket backers can’t determine the outcome of the elections.
